“But Joe, You’re NO

I love it when someone wants to be someone else.

I’ve been told “But Joe, you’re no __________…”

<Guru’s Name Here>

So?  I don’t want to be either.

Nor should you.

You see, wanting to be someone else, or have the success that someone else is having…is creating an atmosphere that is destructive to your own success.

Because you’re not building a brand true to yourself, and true to your beliefs etc…

The bottom line is…You need to be you, and I’m going to keep being me.   Because that’s what the people who place their trust in me are partnering with…me.

Not <Guru’s Name Here>.

Who Are You?

One is a powerful word.  Especially for today’s lesson.

One of the main reasons people fail to make money using the internet is due to a lack of focus when getting started (and sometimes when they continue after getting momentum).

When getting started…

You need one reason.

(for me it was helping to grow businesses and seeing the reaction on business owner’s faces once they achieved true freedom)

You need one skill.

(in the beginning, for me it was copywriting and a little bit of marketing…now it’s much more of a role as an online business-results coach and copywriting)

You need one niche to explore.

(for me, business owners that wanted to use the Internet to generate 1 – 100% of their revenue)

You need one method of monetization.

(sell my skills and knowledge to that niche)

So you can earn one dollar.

(did that in 2001)

Once you do that, you repeat and duplicate until you are making considerable income from one business.  But you have to earn that first dollar first…before even thinking about the “thousands” or “millions” you’ll make.

One and

Capitalize on it

Until you’re

That’s the one key that opens the front door to success, and if you’ve already started gaining momentum…the one key you must return to when you feel like things aren’t going as planned with your online business.

It really is that simple folks.  But not easy…as it’s extremely likely that you’ll be faced with 1000’s of distractions and seemingly better opportunities along the way.

Forget them.

If the other opportunities were so much better than what you are / want to working on now…you wouldn’t have them being marketed to you…you would have to go and find them.  People don’t share the “real” secrets for $47 in an ebook…period.

So now, the choice is yours…

Are you going to F.O.C.U.S. and get real about your business…or get a job slaving away for someone else and line their pockets?

Until next time…

Plan B And Why It’s Killing Your Business

“Well, it’s time to go to plan B…”

“What’s our back up plan here?”

“Just in case I fail, I’ll just do this…”

Business killers…all of them.

Plan B is a BIG time business killer folks.  The best companies, results, marketing, products, etc…etc… were almost always formed or delivered WITHOUT a “safety net.”

For the most part, when there is no alternative…when we have to perform (or suffer grave consequences)…as humans, we shine.

Think about it…how many “rags to riches” stories are out there?

But uh-oh…I can sense a disturbance in the force…

Some of you may not be willing to step outside of your comfort zone enough to take any risk without having a contingency plan of some sort.

Fine.  You could still get results.

But let’s think together here for just a second…if you have a “back up”…how much real focus will you put into succeeding with your risky venture if you know there’s a net there to catch you if you fail?

Now, compare that to the level of focus you’ll devote if there isn’t one to catch you.  Feel the difference?  You’re going to make damn sure you succeed, because if you fail…the consequences will be much greater.

If you will put more effort towards success when you don’t have a net, than if you do have a net…wouldn’t you succeed more often without one?

Sure…when you failed (which is certain), there would be greater consequences, but they would occur less often (because you’re succeeding more often)…soooooo….

You have a choice…

1)  Keep using a plan B, succeed less, but have a “net” there to catch you if you fail.  You’ll also have a slower time of building momentum…and escaping mediocrity.

2)  Stop using plan B, succeed more, with no “net” there to catch you.  When you do fail (and you will)…it will have greater consequences, but you will fail less often with more focus and more success.  You will therefore build more momentum faster…and escape mediocrity.

It takes some guts to choose number 2…but if you do…well…you’ll pass up everyone that doesn’t ever make that choice.

Until the next time we look in the mirror together,

Do you have a plan B?
