Why Freelancing Really Isn’t For Artists

The business of freelancing…whatever type of freelancing you do…really isn’t for “artists”.

You gotta treat it like a business, which means the business of a service provider.  You have to respond to emails in a timely fashion, deal with changes in the project professionally, play “collection agency” some of the time (not for long though if you’re smart) etc…

Freelancing is a people business, period.  If all you’re interested in is the art…it will cost you dearly.
