Creativity comes from a place within you that you don’t normally access.
You aren’t being creative if you’re doing so “on the spot”… because you aren’t deep enough within your psyche to “be there.”
Innovation comes from the same place.
So why do so many people try and shortcut the process and be creative without “being creative?”
The reward for being creative is a HUGE carrot… one that has promise of huge financial and status gains. The reality of such thinking is actually quite the opposite. Every writer, artist, and creator or inventor has went through a deep and painful process to bring their most successful works to the public eye.
But all the public sees is the fame and fortune of bringing that work to the forefront… the end result. And many people want that end result WITHOUT the pain and process required to get there.
In short, most people are lazy… period.
Creativity is a process, not an event. Always remember that.
