If you sell a product or service, have you ever thought of building an affiliate selling force to help you promote it?
If you don’t, for most products and services you should consider it. But this post isn’t for those who don’t have affiliates already…rather the ones that do…
If you have affiliates helping you promote your front end products, recurring membership sites, etc… are you really paying any attention to them?
I’ve noticed through observation and from working with clients there isn’t enough focus being devoted to truly developing affiliate programs. I’m talking about providing real training, real support, real offers…and heck, real and on-time payments of all earned commissions.
And it’s sad…to say the least. These are essentially “free” sales if you’re paying commission-per-sale (you wouldn’t have these profits without the affiliate)…or very small cost if you pay-per-lead (like $2 – $50 per lead depending on your industry)…and some business owners don’t even give their affiliate program any real thought.
It’s called leverage people.
So, when you examine your affiliate program again:
- Show your affiliates how to sell what you’re offering. Give them the tools needed to do so.
- Provide real training on an ongoing basis. Don’t just put some stupid videos in a training area and call it at that.
- Pay your affiliates on-time, every dollar you owe them…and quit trying to find reasons NOT to pay them…please?
- And on…and on…
I see a HUGE opportunity for improvement here people. Let’s get on it!
